Architect
Totalspace Design Principal. “For me, architecture is about a collaborative process between designer and client that results in a unique solution that fulfills its purpose elegantly, simply and effectively.”With over 20 years experience in the Adelaide architectural sector, Sarah brings a broad range of experience to the table. Equally comfortable in her niche specialist area of secure architecture or delivering residential, commercial and government projects, Sarah applies the same diligence and care to all her projects and clients.As one of the establishing members of Totalspace Design in 1994, Sarah is an accomplished design architect, project manager and creative director who endeavours to lead by example and provides support and input into all of TSD’s projects.Sarah was the 2010 recipient of the Catherine Helen Spence Memorial Scholarship and during that time carried out a research study into mother and baby accommodation within secure facilities. She has been a regular presenter and chairperson at the National Prison Planning Conferences, and has authored a number of articles in various publications. Her Secure Facility experience has led to her association with the Electronic Security Consultancy company, ctg Security Matrix. Senior Interior Designer

An interior designer has a responsibility to honour good design and enhance a space respectfully while at the same time ensuring the end user is happy”Mary has been part of the Totalspace Design team for over 10 years, and in that time has firmly established herself as an innovative and highly creative design professional. Combined with her technical skill and knowledge, her honesty and humour ensure she is a delight to work with and invariably provides her clients with solutions beyond what they had imagined.Her strengths are colour and form – she has an array of successful interior projects across Adelaide in hotel refurbishments, retail, and office fit-outs, as well as an endless list of residential achievements. Equally comfortable in either the government or private sector, Mary has built up sound relationships within the Interior Design Industry and the broader Adelaide construction community.Mary leads the TSD Interior Design team and provides input to all projects in the office. Manager“I am a firm believer that our surrounding space should be inspirational for positive integration with one’s soul.”Sue has been with TSD for over 14 years and in that time has taken the running of the office into her capable hands. She has more than 20 years of administrative experience across a range of industries and is adept at ensuring the office operates smoothly enabling the rest of the team to concentrate on what they do best.Sue recently completed her own Interior Design Studies meaning the Interior Design department has grown, and providing us with more options for delivering quality solutions for our clients. “My focus in architecture over the years has been to approach each new project as an opportunity to gain new skills and increase my knowledge. Every project brings a new challenge and that’s what I enjoy.”Daryl has been a part of the TSD team for over 3 years and provides a strong practical and technical flavour to the practice. With proficiency in CAD, design development, documentation and 3D modelling, Daryl complements the creative side of the office. Fred Smith

Fred joined Totalspace Design in 2017, expanding the Architectural team. He has taken the opportunity to join the team at Totalspace Design to build upon and prove his existing skill base, expand the capacity for TSD to continue to deliver quality architectural outcomes and to allow himself to focus on his children with a family-friendly & supportive team behind him. Fred brings with him a varied background across a wide range of sectors, with a focus on educational, residential and commercial projects.He is a skilled Architect with extensive experience working with project stakeholders to manage projects from inception to completion. His approach to projects allows for a rapport to be quickly established with each and every client, allowing a close professional relationship to develop to the benefit of the projects. Phoenix joined the Totalspace team in early 2015, and has become an integral member of the office.
He can usually be found in the corner of Sarah’s office, or under Jarred’s desk, providing licks and support when required.
