Department of Child Protection - Residential Care House
Department for Child Protection (DCP) engaged Totalspace Design to design a residential care house for
High-Risk children who are under the guardianship of the Minister. The main goal of this project was to create a safe and home-like environment to accommodate four children with challenging behaviours and to keep them safe and develop different skills under 24/7 staff supervision.
Each child has a bedroom and is able to customise their own space to suit their tastes. This goal was achieved by implementing anti ligature and durable services, fixtures, fittings and ensuring that children will be safe and reduce harm risks in different living spaces as much as possible.
