Testimonials

The Totalspace Design team have worked with a diverse range of clients over the last 28 years. One of the most rewarding parts of our job is the feedback we receive from our clients once the project has reached completion and the end user has begun to experience the space.

Some of our favorites are below.

John Pirie Secondary School

Roger Nottage, Principal:

"It is not possible to capture the level of professionalism, wholehearted commitment, nor the lifelong impact that the TotalspaceDESIGN (TSD) team have had on the community of Port Pirie in a testimonial.

I have been a school Principal and Regional Director for 41 years. My direct involved in numerous school, community and regional office construction / re-development projects, totaling many millions of dollars, offers considerable perspective on quality service in the construction industry.

Totalspace Design by far exceed the:

  • design excellence (functional, innovative, calming, contemporary)

  • collaborative & responsive customer engagement

  • attention to detail & timeliness

  • exceptional input, as well as follow-up at fortnightly onsite project meetings

  • rigorous construction supervision oversight service provision that I have come to expect or ever experienced previously.

This is an outstanding South Australian business providing lead architectural service to the community. The integrity displayed by lead architect Ms Sarah Paddick and her team is beyond excellent. Sarah herself is dynamic, intelligent, responsive and balanced. She is passionate about delivering superb outcomes for the clients she serves. The team at TSD imbue the professionalism and service orientation Sarah expects. As a collective they are incredibly reliable and service oriented. They are experts in their field, truly committed to delivering exceptional architecture that makes a difference to people’s lives.

Recently I was conversing with experienced Learning Coordinator who works with some of the most challenged young people in our state. This person is responsible for personalised programs for forty-five, 16-18 year old students not able to engage in mainstream schooling. She was effusive about the difference moving into the new Flexible Learning Centre had made on her own wellbeing and the manner in which students engaged with case managers, support teams and their programs. This team leader was unbelieving at the difference the space made to wellbeing and engagement.

An Assistant Principal at the school recently emailed TSD, commenting…

“It’s a beautiful sunny day, most of the external doors open in building A and B are wide open, teachers are collaborating in their shared offices and quality learning is truly visible as you walk through. The impact of your work on the culture of learning multiplied over the future generations of young people who will learn in those buildings is immeasurable. We know the impact your team have had. Together with the delicate work of responding to the needs of student with disabilities, acknowledging Indigenous culture and saving the heritage of the powerhouse TSD went way beyond just pumping out another corporate building and we really want to thank your team for that.”

TotalspaceDESIGN’s architectural expertise combined with their to capacity truly engage with clients, construction teams, local government and regulatory bodies has delivered on a $10.5M capitals works development to provide an exceptional outcome which has:

  • enhanced the professional lives and performance of employees

  • created sensational street appeal and marketing value and

  • most importantly has delivered contemporary learning spaces that promote innovative pedagogy which has immediately enhanced learning outcomes for young people.

The legacy of their work will continue to shape the professional lives of employees, the learning experience of young people and the reputation of public secondary education in Pirie forever." (2021)

Broken Hill Community Credit Union

Andrew Pellizzer, General Manager, 0417438350:

"Broken Hill Community Credit Union selected Totalspace Design as Architects and Project Managers for two major developments relating to our current business transformation project.

In 2015 Totalspace designed and project managed our Branch refurbishment at 2 Chloride Street, Broken Hill. Works commenced in April 2016 and were completed on time and on budget in October 2016. The refurbishment was completed in two stages with no interruption to our customer service. The design, features and functionality have received nothing but praise from our staff, customers and the Broken Hill community.

In 2017 we partnered with the Country University Centre Far West and Totalspace to plan and build a university centre in our adjoining building. Once again this project was completed on time and on budget and within a very short time frame. The university centre was officially opened by the NSW Deputy Premier, John Barilaro, on May 4th 2018 and has also received acclamation from government, students and the community.

The Team at Totalspace Design are skilful, proficient and responsive and I have no hesitation in recommending them for project design and management.

Please give me a call if you would like to discuss these projects or this testimonial."

Corporate Health Group, Mile End

Kay Neill, CEO:

“On behalf of CHG I am writing to pass on our thanks and appreciation for your contribution to the design and fit out of our new medical facility and head office in Mile End.

It was a complicated project given the challenges of addressing both the functional workflow and clinical aspects of the project whilst still delivering our brief for a look and feel that was contemporary and unique. We are delighted with the result and our staff, patients and clients are glowing in their endorsement of the final product.

Your ability to understand and interpret our brief and expectations was outstanding. You welcomed our feedback and discussion and nothing was too difficult or disregarded without explanation or providing alternatives. You were able to source a wide variety of options and samples but were prepared to guide us when we needed to be “brave” to ensure we were consistent with the vision of the project. The gorgeous stairwell is a perfect example of this!

You engaged with our Operations Manager, Jason Edwards and myself in a professional and collaborative manner. At CHG our values of respect, excellence, loyalty, integrity and collaboration are the foundation on which we deliver our services and you applied those very values throughout the project. We would certainly recommend Totalspace Design to anyone looking for a reliable, trusted, innovative and collaborative design partner.

Para West Adult Campus

John Willemse, Coordinator of Health & Personal Development:

“When DECS announced they would fund the rebuild of our cooking area – we were immediately under time pressure as it had to be complete within the financial year. The team from Totalspace Design were fantastic.

Upon consultation with Transfield – the builders (now Spotless) and us the users – Mary and Sarah drew up plans and colour schemes. After many discussions amongst the PWAC staff we chose a commercial look of bold colours rather than a home renovation look of neutrals.

The colour scheme is timeless and still looks great today. The cooking space is uncluttered due to excellent storage areas and students’ cooking flows very nicely. We have demonstration cooking areas up the front as well as a commercial gas oven.

This area was so good we used Totalspace Design and Mary for our laundry upgrade – which resulted in a combined barista area and laundry – it’s in coffee and earth colours and looks fabulous. This area fits in with the open space classroom and sewing nearby.

If we find some more money we will be using Mary and the team to rebuild our office space which is now housed in a change room and could do with the Totalspace Design’s touch.”

St Francis de Sales College

Marg Heath, Business Manager:

“I would very much like to recommend Totalspace Design for school design and planning. I have worked with several members of the team and have found them all to be very interested and tuned to the clients’ requests.

The projects have included redesigning a Home Economics area including, cooking, class area and sewing facilities which are housed in an older building. The design and interior finishes are stunning and this has been achieved by the Totalspace designers listening to the needs of the staff and management.

A student services area incorporating counseling offices, meeting rooms and reception areas designed again in an older building also was completed with interesting design features with aesthetically pleasing finishes, meeting modern technology needs with careful consideration to the needs of the many people working in this area.

I have also worked with Totalspace in the redefining of a Technology building incorporating offices, innovative classrooms and space for students and staff. The foyer was also redesigned again with captivating ideas and interesting and welcoming finishes.

I would be most happy to work with any members of Totalspace again on any project development"

East Adelaide School
(Formerly Davoren Park PS)

Graham Wood, Principal:

“The Davoren Park School worked with Totalspace Design to redesign the Administration Area of the school.

Through out the process the staff at Totalspace Design were keen to take on the needs, ideas and opinions of the Davoren Park School. At all times through the project they were available to discuss modifications and changes to ideas. We found their ability to communicate with the school from the beginning until the end of the project was outstanding.

The school community was delighted with the outcome of the redeveloped administration area. Since completion of the project the school has received numerous requests to view the work and all were complimentary of the design.”

Thebarton Senior College

Kim Hebenstreit, Principal:

“Totalspace Design have worked with Thebarton Senior College on a number of projects. Both architectural and interior design work has been conducted. One plan was in excess of $1,000,000 in total and required considerable consultancy to plan, and throughout the construction phase.

The College has been grateful for the outstanding and very personal attention provided by Michael, his associates and staff. A school setting, working with clients who are inexperienced in building, requires considerable patience and support and this has been consistently provided.

We have been impressed by the creativity shown by the Totalspace Design team who have enabled the most effective use of heritage buildings with modern functionality.”
